Let’s be honest: running a photography business can feel incredibly isolating. We’re creatives, business owners, problem-solvers, marketers, editors, accountants… and somehow expected to do it all alone. Even when you’re surrounded by people, it’s easy to feel like you’re on an island—especially in an industry that can sometimes feel more competitive than collaborative.

That’s exactly why I created The Photography Collective.

This community was built on the belief that photographers deserve more than surface-level connection. We deserve real conversation. Shared knowledge. Support without gatekeeping. A culture that feels less like competition and more like coworkers who genuinely want to see each other succeed.

The Photography Collective exists to create something deeper than a group chat or social feed. It’s a space for photographers across Southeastern Wisconsin to connect as professionals under one shared umbrella—where honesty, skill, compassion, and service come first.

We use Slack as our home base because it allows us to communicate intentionally and stay organized—without algorithms, endless scrolling, or noise. Think of it like a modern creative office: channels for asking questions, sharing opportunities, learning together, and yes—some good old-fashioned office banter too.

Inside the Collective, you’ll find space for:
